OOH is composed of 7 committee, each with a governing body, that carries out various responsibilities and roles. At OOH, we strive for a clear and efficient communication both within and between each committee to ensure the effective functioning of the whole organization.
BUSINESS OPERATIONS (FUNDRAISING, PROGRAM AND MARKETING)
This committee is responsible for:
- ensuring day-to-day operations adhere to the moral fiber, corporate values, and character of the organization, by:
- working to develop and sustain the OOH’s reputation as the premier provider of services which is highly recognized and valued by potential sponsors, contributors and the public; and
- keeping the organization connected to the community and the public which it serves through engagements at public events, Voice of the Customer surveys and other marketing opportunities.
FINANCE COMMITTEE
This committee is responsible for:
- ensuring the appropriateness of fiscal policy;
- maintaining the proper accounting procedures for fiscal resources and the oversight of the process of developing the financial program and budget for the organization; and
- advising and guiding the treasurer in the performance of his/her duties to include the establishment of the financial strategy that aligns the financial resources with the organizational strategy.
GOVERNANCE AND STRATEGIC PLANNING COMMITTEE
This committee is responsible for:
- serving as the visioning team for the organization;
- continually reviewing and revising organizational strategies for providing essential services and products;
- assessing the course and direction of the organization to determine whether it continues to satisfy the needs of the community; and
- providing insight to ensure that the organization continues to thrive as it serves the community so that over the long term Organization of Hope can become even more relevant.
INFRASTRUCTURE AND ACQUISITION COMMITTEE
This committee is responsible for:
- providing the essential oversight to ensure that facilities and grounds are kept up to date and reflect the pride of the organization as well as the essence of stewardship that encourages investment by sponsors and potential supporters;
- providing continuous oversight of support services, supplies, products and other material to assure to our stakeholders that all acquisitions and purchases are made in a manner that encourages open and full competition, values the capabilities of the local communities and complies with all aspects of law and ethical procurement practices; and
- ensuring acquisition integrity as well as the protection of proprietary and acquisition of sensitive information to promote successful competitive procurement actions.
INTERNAL REVIEW AND ETHICS COMMITTEE
This committee is responsible for:
- reviewing and upholding management and internal control procedures;
- ensuring periodic audits to validate financial controls and systems;
- overseeing all business, personal and financial disclosures with individuals who are authorized to make acquisition decisions or commit funds for the organization or may in any manner influence funding decisions;
- ensuring that disclosures are conducted in a confidential yet thorough manner; and
- responding to allegations or perceptions of the violation of ethics policies of the organization.
PERFORMANCE ASSESSMENT AND EVALUATION COMMITTEE
This committee is responsible for:
- establishing the guidelines and ensuring unbiased conduct of quarterly evaluations of all corporate officers;
- the annual determination of continuation or termination of corporate officers; and
- the oversight of the corporate business assessment process ensuring that outcomes and results are aligned to the organization’s goals and that measures accurately portray the organizations successes or deficiencies in achieving the expected outcomes.
PUBLIC RELATIONS; LEGISLATIVE AND GOVERNMENT LIAISON
This committee is responsible for:
- providing information and public engagement capability for the Organization of Hope by ensuring that strategies and plans are currently with the social and economic issues of the community;
- providing oversight of pending and enacted legislation that directly or indirectly impacts the ability of Organization of Hope to provide essential and meaningful services;
- ensuring that the individuals responsible for engagement with government and legislative officials understand the issues and carry the appropriate messages to government officials; and
- identifying and creating engagement opportunities.
