Since 2017, we have been licensed by the state of Maryland to provide a DUI/DWI Alcohol Education Program. We offer 6 and 26-week session options depending on your needs. OOH certificates are accepted by all Maryland Courts and Maryland MVA.

Our DWI/DUI programs educate and/or treat those charged with driving while intoxicated (DWI) or driving while under the influence (DUI). To enroll in the most helpful program, applicants first complete an assessment with one of our certified addiction counselors. All programs meet the Maryland Motor Vehicle Administration’s (MVA) DWI/DUI standards.

Referrals

Clients are typically referred to these programs by:
A District/Circuit Court Judge

  • The administrative law judge in the office of administrative hearings (OAH)
  • MVA due to revoked license due to alcohol-related incident

Applicants must:

  • Complete a clinical assessment.
  • Pass a drug screen and breathalyzer test.
  • Not use other illicit drugs.

A comprehensive assessment is conducted to evaluate the medical, mental health and social problems related to addiction with additional behavioral health treatment referrals being made as indicated:

12-Hour DWI/DUI Education Program

This program meets once a week for six weeks.Each week will provide 2-hours of alcohol education per COMAR regulations and class is taught by a certified addiction counselor. Participants learn how alcohol affects driving skills by hearing from a certified addiction counselor. They’ll also learn to identify their own drinking and driving patterns and make a plan to reduce the probability of future DWI and DUI behavior.

26-Week DWI/DUI 90 days Treatment Program

This program meets once a week for 26 weeks and is designed for those who have a long history of alcohol use and/or legal consequences related to drinking. With help from a licensed clinician, participants leave with tools to change their high-risk behaviors and identify the negative effects of drinking and driving.
